Research Report on China's transportation industry by rail, 2010-2011
www.shcri.com – The development of urban rail resolve conflict between the long operating distance and time, improve quality of life of residents and promote the rational use in cities. The first urban rail transit line in China was built in Nanjing in 1930. Then, due to various reasons, which was dismantled by 1950. In late July 2010 approximately 40 cities in China has been planning or construction of rail projects. China Construction Metro experienced a high-speed development in 2001-2008. Meanwhile, the volume of passenger rail transit Urban China has also grown rapidly. In 2001, the volume of urban passenger railway in China was only 830 million. In 2002, He went up to one billion, has increased by 176.50 million euros. Growth rate increased from 24% in 2004 and 2005, from 1.30 billion $ 1.65 billion. In the opinion of the State Council on improving Management of Urban Construction of Rapid Transit Railroad published in 2003, the candidate cities for subway construction in China is expected to population of over 3 million dollars from the city proper, the budget revenue of over CNY 10 billion in local public finance and GDP over 100 million RMB. Candidate cities for the construction of light rail in China must have the population of over 1.50 million from the city proper, budgetary revenue of over CNY 6000 million shortfall in local public finance to GDP over 60 billion dollars. In terms of population, the population of the city itself called Nanchang, Nanning, Lanzhou, China, etc has exceeded 1.50 million, these cities have requested the construction of the railway network urban. Some small and medium cities in economically developed regions have populations of less than 1 million from the city proper, but also are calling for construction of urban rail network.
From now to 2020, there is a maximum period during which China's rail transport construction urban and the golden period for the development of rail areas. In 2020, the mileage of China's urban rail is planned for 2,200 kilometers. Whenever the price of construction is 300 million yuan per kilometer, the total funds requested for construction would be CNY 660 billion (USD 97 billion).
