Wheeled Luggage – The Benefits
The person who invented wheeled luggage deserves a very large medal. What a great idea! Through research I found out that a Mr Sadow thought of an easier way to travel while struggling very hard to carry his luggage through an airport. He invented the luggage bag with wheels in 1970 and received the patent in 1972. Of course, in 1987 it was improved upon by Robert Plath, who was an airline pilot at the time. He came up with the rollaboard. He started to sell his luggage to his fellow airline pilots. Plath, later left his flying career and started Travelpro International, which is now a major luggage company.
The benefits of wheeled luggage is that you can travel in comfort and stress free. You are not going to break your back or do bodily damage while carrying your luggage to the airport. Now, you can wheel your way to the airport, through the airport and then on to your destination. This is so much easier!
Frequent travelers need luggage that is durable and long lasting standing the test of time. The frame type, the wheel quality, the type of material the luggage is made from and whether it has a telescoping handle are all things to consider when looking for luggage with wheels. You also need to look at the zipper strength as they are usually the first to break as they are the most used on a luggage bag other than the wheels. Most wheeled luggage will come with multiple pockets as well so that you can easily store all your close at hand personal items. With all the improvements with wheeled luggage over the years, they have become lightweight and durable so that they do not have to be replaced on a regular basis. Your luggage is an investment not a purchase these days.
There is a large variety of wheeled luggage depending on your needs such as carry on uprights, backpacks, or a computer bag. Even garment bags and duffel bags come with wheels. You can purchase wheeled luggage that is expandable so that you can pack the last minute extras and it will still fit into the overhead bin or under the seat of most airplanes as long as it meets the standard requirements of a carry on. Most department stores, shopping malls or online stores make wheeled luggage affordable for everyone. You will definitely find the right luggage for you, your budget and your travel needs. Luggage with wheels is an asset to any traveler allowing them to travel in comfort and stress free.
